Merry Christmas Everyone!

This is Andy's card for Christmas 2010, quite simple but effective I think.  The main  body of the card is pearlised card, the background is a sticky DL sized piece of peel-off (which I never usually use, but this solid stuff is lovely for Christmas) and the boxes are just made from scrap card, a good way to use up your little scrap pieces that you never throw away and sits there forever!  I also punch a hole in the corner and use them as gift tags.  The red mirror card that I had made lovely tags this year, teamed up with red ribbon and red and gold paper.

I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and look forward to seeing your work in the New Year!

The same but different

I often have such a hard time thinking of a title, but this one I think sums it up!  A few of my Christmas cards this year.
This is a docrafts stamp, which was quite cheap for its size (under £6) this is an A5 card so you can SEE roughly how big.  I was also quite pleased that I had an old VersaMark watermark stamp pad and someone told me that she had heard that you can bring it back to life with glycerine, bought some costing about £0.79 and really pleased to say that IT DOES WORK!  All of the cards on this post were stamped with said VersaMark pad.

Made by a six year old!

 Made by Ellis, aged 6
I was quite impressed by the neatness of this card that my friend's six year old Son made for me, so I though I would share this with you.

oops, I said I'd finished

Another four quickies and that just leaves two to do where I have to put a bit more effort in, lol.  These were very very quick.  Used glue pad for the wording and main tile and covered them with glamour dust, sealed with hair spray.  The snowflakes were stamped with StazeOn white.

photo isn't that great, doesn't really show up the sparkle.

Group Photo!

Well apart from one or two special cards still to make I have made all I am going to make this year and here was the last batch, a few quickies and one for my sister using the last of the tiles I made.

I do love these tiles

and a close up of the little Bethlehem one, I think this is rather sweet

Doesn't show up here, but the black image is covered in Glossy Accents, which acted as a resist for the paint.

Off To Sydney

No not me unfortunately the card.  This one made with the same four seasons stamps is for my Son, David who lives in Sydney and I need to get it in the post tomorrow as for some International destinations the last day is the 4th December.....and this is he...

I thought that this card is manly enough to send, it is always hard to decorate a man's card!

I don't have one ot those anti-static bags but when using embossing powder with wording I always brush a little talcum powder on first, this stops my powder going places where I don't want it to go.  Again I stamped onto gold mirror card, rubbed black paint into it and then played about with different alcohol inks, cranberry, oregano, terra cotta and espresso and finished with household wax.  The background is a mixture of Lettuce Adirondack ink mixed with Kiwi Perfect Pearls and a little water that I sponged on.  What ink was left was flicked onto the card, rather like glimmer mists I think.

My First Christmas Card for 2009

At last I have started making Christmas cards for this year.  Spent most of last night making tiles and embellishments ready to make up, but actually put one together.  These are old stamps that I haven't used for a long time, I think they are Anita's four seasons stamps.  Anyway....first one out of the way.....a few more to go, lol.  Have some left over from last year, which is good.

The stamps are inverted stamps and I stamped them onto mirror card and used embossing powders.  Inked over the top with alcohol inks and finally a little bit of household wax polish to seal.  Silver glitter pen used for the winter stamp.  The wax brings back the shine as the alcohol inks can make it go a bit dull on the embossed surface.  I have made up a few more of these tiles as I think they make a colourful card.
