Sharing a Birthday

Well tomorrow I will be the grand age of 53 :( and I share my birthday with a neighbour who is I think going to be thirteen, lucky her :).  Every year we look at each other and say "happy birthday" at exactly the same time, which always makes us laugh

This is the card I have made.  I haven't done much lately in the way of paper craft and I always find it hard to get back into, I kept changing my mind about which paper I would use and it seemed to take me ages.  I'm still not sure whether I actually like the card or not, lol.
I have had this stamp for a while now and never actually made anything with it, but it is ideal for teenagers.  I stamped it with Versamark and covered with black embossing powder and heated.  I used water colours for the image, the flowers are stuck on with Glossy Accents.

Slow Start to the New Year!

Happy New year everyone!  I can't believe that this is the first thing I have made since before Christmas, gosh!
This card is for Charlotte, my three year old Goddaughter, it kick-started me into getting those inks and stamps out.  I don't know why, I had all of Christmas with hardly any visitors, hardly went anywhere (mainly because of the weather) and this past week or so with being stuck in, you would think it ideal crafting time, but no....I have been under the blanket, watching TV, reading or crocheting nd not had much interest in that craft desk at all.  What is wrong with me?  Should I see a Doctor?

Am I losing interest?  I need some new projects I think, getting a bit bored and want to try something new, so I have bought some clay , have lots of paints, also sorted through my sewing box and realised that I have some nice bits I can use on something.....don't know what yet, but I am always inspired by both Pattie and Astrid with the lovely things they make.  I wonder if rushing to make all those Christmas cards put too much stress on me and the thought of making another card was not filling me with any joy.  I also bought some Grungepaper from The Artisic Stamper, so might have a try and these lovely flowers everyone is making, will have to see.
Both these stamps are freebies from magazines and they are inked up with wild plum Adirondack ink.

Birthday Fairy

Tomorrow is my friend's daughter's birthday and I only remembered yesterday, so a quick make last night and in the post today, although when she will get it I don't know, maybe I will drive there and deliver it myself!  As usual, didn't know how this would end up, just got out inks and sponges, coloured pencils and some wet wipes and some of the glimmer mist that I received in the lovely blog candy from Hels and made a big mess on my hands and ended up with this, lol.

I have used some pearlescent paints on here, but the photo never shows the beauty of the nice sheen it gives so have added this close-up.

Ellis's Birthday

I can't believe that five years ago I watched our friend's little boy be born into the world, an experience I wouldn't have missed for the world! Well five years on and we celebrated his birthday yesterday, here is the card I made. Stamped the sky and grass with old kitchen sponge inked with ordinary stamp pads, but before sponging them onto the card I spritzed the sponge with water. TBH all these special stamp pads are okay, but you can always get a nice effect with the use of a little imagination. The owl stamp was a freebie from Craft Stamper, which was painted, cut out and then covered in clear embossing powder before attaching with stick pads, wobbly eyes were added. Some glossy accents was added to the leaves, but a hot day and it ran a little too fast :(

Taylors Birthday

We are entering a period where lots of our friend's children are having birthdays, this is the first of a few. Taylor will be 11 and this is a photo of her at about the age of 3, I have altered it on Photoshop and covered it in clear UTEE. I have this picture on the wall at home and she always remarks on it, I hope she will like it.

Connie's Birthday and Happy Easter

This is a card I have made for our six year old friend, Connie, maybe it should have been an angel instead of a fairy, because she is like a little angel. I am waiting for my other half to get ready to travel 200+ miles where we are booked into a hotel and the start of a little break for Easter, but it is already 17:00, so God knows when we are going to get there........................ HAPPY EASTER! After Easter it is wedding invites that I have to cracking on with.
