Sadly, none of this work is mine but I really hope that one day I can make something just as good. I'll start off with this beautiful daisy, just look at the detail, these artists are truly talented, she has created something that any artist with a paintbrush would be proud of, I'm sure. Just look at those lovely french knots, hundreds of them - my favourite stitch (well so far).
The following pictures are from the "Bloomin Marvelous" exhibition I visited last month at Hyde Hall. The exhibitors are all members of a group called O2 Textiles. They are a group of Textile Artists who produce some amazing work and their site is well worth a look. They covered an arched walk way with flowers and birds and everything on there was either made with re-cycled products or scraps from their stash, nothing new was bought, even old birthday balloons (the silver plastic kind) had been made into some sort of flower. If you look closely you can see that this flower is made from an old map.
and this one is made with a washing-up scourer
I can even see a comic in one of the flowers here
The work was just stunning
This was one of my absolute favourites, but then I do love echinaceas
These figures are by my friend, my inspiration, my teacher, Eileen, they are fabulous!
Another of my favourites as I just love the colours and textures of this felted piece.
Hope you enjoyed having a look.
